It's non-compliance of court order

This refers to the news that LIC has deposited in the PUNJAB and HARYANA HC registry RS 33.67 lakhs which represent the amount due to the 31 petitioners presumably the amount required to remove the DA anomaly of the petitioners without interest.
Just imagine having waited for so long each petitioner receiving approximately 1.10 lakhs. It is also presumed that the arrears were not calculated from 01-11-1993 the date of the Board resolution. This is callous disregard to the SC order which says : The SLP filed by LIC against the judgment of HON HC of Punjab and Haryana which has been converted into civil appeal by HON SC came up before the bench ……….was dismissed and he Hon'ble apex court directed the LIC to implement the single judge bench Hon. Justice MN Bandhari’s judgment dated
12-01-2010 for which there was no stay. The action is similar to what LIC did in the CWP 654/2007 (Asthana V LIC).
From all these one could read the mind set of GOI/LIC in opposing pension up gradation tooth and nail and go hammer and tong in arguing their stand when the SC bench sits to take up the tied cases Which is expected to come to the bench sometime in September and God forbid the Dussarah holidays do not cause further delay. The coming hearing being the final one, catena of judgements in our favor, we should not be over confident that the final judgment will be in our favor and in tune with Hon. Justice Bandhari’s judgement. We have to bear in mind that with too many cases to dispose with no respite with very little time available the judges are always in a hurry we should therefore go with all facts and figures ready to unleash in the arguments which will convince the learned judge without confusing him.

God forbid we hope at least this time there are no more delays and no more deaths in the pensioners fraternity.
