WAGE NEGOTIATIONS & PENSIONERS DEMANDS

Dear Sir,

I append hereunder the following post contributed by me in our Group today in respect of Wage Negotiations which also include Pensioners demands.

The Government has forgotten their own promise while Nationalization of the Financial Sector be it Banks, Insurance to be a Model Employer. We must remind them of it.
Unfortunately, the Govt. are doing more harm to the financial sector industry, when they do injustice to the employees of Banks and Insurance when the GoI themselves are 100 per cent owner of the Industry. How can they not implement their own policies and the laws laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India is a million dollar Question?

Several Judgements given by the High Courts in India are also not be accepted and the Government of India and the Managements of the Industry are both hands in glove to ensure that they harass the employees and perpetuate the Injustice even to Pensioners/ Retirees.

The Government of India is to be held responsible to the poor performance, if any, of the Public Sector Financial Institutions since they make the Appointments of the top positions in Public Sector and they do also Manage (or Mismanage) through the Boards of Directors where they themselves sit and even appoint other Directors as they wish. In any case all decisions are by and large taken at the level of Govt. of India through their own bureaucrats. We must question all this since we are the ultimate sufferers?

Please circulate it widely and we must present our case fully and with conviction before all authorities including the newly elected Modi Government.

Regards,
VK BHASIN,
CHAIRMAN, GENERAL INSURANCE PENSIONERS ASSON.
