M Sreenivasa Murty

FROM THE HYDERABAD ASSOCIATION

I am on my way back from Delhi after securing for the Hyderabad Association today, a firm 'position' before the designated Bench of the High Court of Delhi, as a Petitioner and we are there in our own right, in terms of the Judgement dated 31st March 2016 of the Hon'ble Supreme Court. Our comprehensive Writ Petition, duly vetted by our Sr Counsel, Mr Gaurab Banerji, is already with LIC which is today directed by Justice Khanna, to file its counter within three weeks.

I may add here for the information only of the discerning, that ours has no 'baggage' as being carried by the other parties before the Bench. What I wish to convey is that whereas Jaipur, Chandigarh and Delhi were old 'clients' of LIC and they already know the strengths and weaknesses of each other (unless the anticipated amended applications make any big difference), we from Hyderabad are a new 'guest' for LIC and we are sure to be treated with some respect, if not apprehension. We are going to deserve it.

I am sure, all confusion let loose deliberately and mischievously by the frustrated individuals and directionless Organizations inimical to everything being done by the Hyderabad Association, Sri C H Mahadevan and me, got exposed today as far as our this first major step forward, is concerned.

If people care to recall the order passed by Justice Khanna on 6 May 2016, the Bench made its mind clear that it is taking the time frame set by the Supreme Court seriously and also set the agenda clear for others when it said, the counsel SHOULD come ready to argue the matter on 12 July 2016.

Let the Leader who was trying to scare the Pensioner community that the Hyderabad Association's entry in to the Delhi High Court would delay the cases by 6 to 7 years, now gracefully concede that he was hopelessly wrong. Let him also concede that any delay on the next stage, viz. LIC's and Union of India's Counters to be filed, 'within three weeks' (again as stipulated by the SC) is now on account of himself, as his impending Amended Application is eagerly awaited by the Delhi HC Registry. I can't say this of the main Party, because God knows whom to look to and what for, in their case.
