"Show more consideration for lay pensioner", says B. Gangaraju

13 Jul 15, 11:41 AM

When one advocate has reason to feel highly angry with the opposing lawyer, he controls himself and says "I beg to differ with my learned friend." In a similar manner we in our seventies with children and grandchildren must give expression to our views.

Your appeal for Maximum Restraint and MV Venugopalan's 'silence is golden,' are timely.

Whether Djokovic wins or it is the Federer either husband or wife win, the benefit accrues to their family only. But in our case either the pensioners win or the Govt./LIC.

It would have been better

if Shri Asthana attended Bengaluru

Conference of AIRIEF and explained matters.

He let the opportunity go and disappointed his admirers.

Every one says he is the architect of Jaipur judgment. But SLPs in SC brought in by a determined government are in a different category.

Hence appeals for united approach. Asthanaji has his own style of functioning and how he goes about the case is between him and AIRIEF. If in the process the ordinary pensioners feel tense, restless and worried at ages +70 Or +80, Shri Asthana must show some consideration for the lay pensioner who is anxious for information.

No amount of theorising, conjecturing or talking in a hypothetical way will help. Hence I vote for Silence and Restraint. But Shri Asthana may gain more admirers by being more open.
