Meanwhile,LIC promoted my colleagues though belonged to subsequent batches on the basis of their CRs. An interview was conducted at Madurai in 1971. CRs other reasons were possibly till 1975. 

I was selected and ranked. But the great fire in LIC Bldgs was the villain. Again got selected only in 1977. I do not have any grudges. I could go upto DZM cadre. 

Well, had I been promoted in 1965 itself, I could have reached possibly ED cadre. I do not have any complaint. as after retiring I would have shouted more than when I was at the helm of affairs and could do something. I am not blaming any retd. EDs/MDs. They knew their powers. We are not trained to voice what we feel inward. Though talented always muted. Never had the courage to implement anything which we believed in.

You mentioned TA Pai !! We never had a Chairman after him. It is a feeling shared by many many colleagues who served as EDs.
