It will be a gross understatement if I say that you
deserve all praise and congratulations for the
excellent manner in which you covered the court
room proceedings in real-time, on the 21st.
We also cannot underplay the supreme sacrifices made by our case managers who despite the limitations placed on them have been straining every nerve to ensure that our case is not just taken up, but placed on top of the list of the day and ultimately, heard. Whether we win or lose the case the credit or discredit should never be attributed to those who championed our case. In cricket, sometimes , we have heard the captains saying that it is not the victory or loss of the country for which they have played the game that matters but ensure that under all circumstances “the game of cricket wins”. Similarly, whatever be the final outcome in the Apex Court, the victory or defeat should be viewed as one of the entire community of pensioners and not the individuals who have laboured from behind.
Perhaps it is this psychology which is working on the minds of our leaders and that which makes them indulge in ‘one upmanship’, forestalling any possible slip in the future. Otherwise, one doesn't see any reason for Messrs. Asthana and Srinivasa Murthy coming out with two different versions of the next date on which our case is fixed to be heard. I don’t think it is such an ardous task for either of them to contact the other and come out with a date ; the real one. It will spare the pensioners logging on to the ‘CHRONICLE’ certain confusion and uncertainty. Having said this, I fully agree with the viiews expressed by Mr.Sreeenivasa Murty with regard to the develpments of the 21st in the SC and the futility of casting aspersions on the judiciary.
Is it going to be 28th of January or 4th of February? Let us wait and watch.
With warm regards,
