Reflections on meeting with the Chairman
It was very thoughtful of the office
bearers of the Retired LIC Clss I
officers association, Hyderabad to
seize the opportunity of meeting
our Chairman to apprise him of
our problem and to know his mind.
Their colorful group photograph in
the Blog is a welcome move. What
was palpable from the discussion
that took place in the meeting
could be summarized as under :
1. The GOI has to take a decision for giving pension revision as and when there is wage revision
2. LIC has already taken up with GOI regarding removal of DR anomaly and though LIC and GOI are willing to remove the anomaly and as the matter is before the SC finality is possible only when SC decides the appeal.
3. Although MC JAIN case was filed by a single individual LIC intends to give the relief to all those who are similarly placed and because of that it is taking time for implementation.
4. Chairman thinks Rajasthan judgment is wrong and therefore it cannot direct LIC to do what it cannot do under law.
5. Chairman is looking at the pension related problems as a humanitarian issue and therefore will not oppose our plea in the Supreme Court.
