We had a very useful meeting with Mr Jay Savla (the Advocate appearing for the Chandigarh Petitioners) and his Associate today in their office in Delhi to discuss the strategy to oppose CA No 6995/2013 coming up before the Hon'ble Supreme Court.
Shri Brijit Singh and Shri S N Chhabra from Chandigarh and I from Hyderabad joined the meeting which lasted for over two hours. We were also in contact with Sri SS Saxena over phone. Every conceivable aspect was thoroughly discussed. I may claim that the Counsel is fully briefed on facts and has been provided with necessary documentary inputs. He and his Associate will continue their research relevant to the matter, till the date of hearing. We are scheduled to do final review on 11th evening. - Various likely eventualities and possible developments in the Court Hall were also raised and discussed. There was well reasoned consensus on the best possible overall strategy.
- On the count down for 12th, here is an accurate clarification: The advance weekly cause list does show all our tagged Appeals on 12th but fairly down below in the serial Order. The Final Daily List of cases coming up before Justice Deepak Misra's Bench on 12th will be available only by 11th Night. If our batch is within SL Nos 1 to 10, there are good chances of hearing commencing on 12th or 13th. It is possible and let us hope for it. One has to wait for the same.
