Dear
Editor,
Your valuable services through PENSIONERS CHRONICLE were highly
appreciated and applauded by the top forum of all LIC Pensioner
Organisations, including AIRIEF and we seldom suspect your intention
& involvement in the affairs of pensioners aiming towards an
amicable settlement to the fullest satisfaction of all concerned.
We may even set aside the hostile stand taken by the bureaucracy in LIC & GOI towards thwarting efforts. But the entire pensioner community can not forget the hurdles put forth by a section to the advantage of the unwanted quarters.
Large number of pensioners do desire to focus our issues unitedly before Supreme Court and achieve the desired results. But doubt lingers about the approach of a particular organisation. Their stand was well discussed within their closed-door meetings and despite knowing dissent among a section, the organisation is bent upon their own thesis and refuse to come out openly to share with the present move of other organisations. Do you still believe that your mediatory efforts would yield results ?
Every organisation should voluntarily come forward to sit, discuss and find the solution. Inspite of your repeated calls for unified approach, it hesitates to respond, while others do welcome. Each organisation should spell out their firm decisions and then only a common ground could be established.
You are well aware that a decisive Jaipur HC judgment in favour of the entire community of LIC Pensioners is in vogue and AIRIEF is facing the Apex Court for its final judgment Even then, AIRIEF does not feel shy of meeting in a common platform. Only thing is that other organisations should speak out first their stand. In the absence of the above concrete step, the purpose of such a meeting would not yield the expected results.
(Shri MPS adds: "When matters stand there, a recent write up by an elder statesman SRI. BOSE AN has entered into the arena pouring voluminous charges against the All India Organising Secretary of AIRIEF Sri. B.Angurajan. He has found fault with the designation of Sri B.Angurajan in addressing himself as Organising Secretary, AIRIEF and All India Organising Secretary. Do you find any difference between the above two forms ? We have not heard about this gentleman earlier in any media or through Pensioners Chronicle. He has raised some important questions about the style of functioning of Sri. Angurajan.
The
post of AIOS was created at the last AGC Meeting for purpose of
augmenting the member strength of the organisation and Sri Angurajan was
elected
as the first person to be on the saddle. Utilizing his imagination, he
has contributed his mite towards the above motto and this has earned the
appreciation of our leaders, including Sri. R.B.Kishoreji, Sri.
V.C.Jain, (late) Sri. S.P.Sood, Sri.Madhava Rao,
M.P.Agnihotri, Sri. G.T.Parikh, Sri. S. Balasubramanya, Sri. P.N.
Srivatava, and a number of other prominent activists across the country.
He has taken tours to certain pockets of our units in Tamil Nadu,
Kerala, Karnataka, Chandigarh individually and in the
company of our All India Vice-President Sri. Kishoreji and addressed
their GB meetings. He has contacts with leaders across the country over
mobile phones. He has appealed through messages to the leaders to
arrange special meetings to apprise the members about
our activities and if invited, he was prepared to participate. Wherever
he got invitations, he used to participate. Because of his personal
efforts, the number of subscribers for our House Magazine " Varistha
Vaani has considerably improved. He led the delegation
to meet our LIC Chairman, for the first time on pre-fixed appointment,
to discuss pending issues of pensioners. Sri. Bose AN has charged that
Sri Angurajan has circulated a copied version of some one else. We only
pity him for having wasted his energy on some
unfounded errand. Sri. Angurajan has not degenerated to the level of
borrowing his mission through the mouth of some body else.He has served
as General Secretary of National Federation Of Insurance field Workers
of India, Madurai Division for a few years and
as Secretary of Class-1 Officers Association of Madurai Dn. He has
retired as Divisional Manager. After retirement he has also been the
president AIIPA. At present he is President of RIEA, Madurai Unit.
Members will laugh at us when we start to slur on some
flimsy and imaginary grounds...." We have since withdrawn this post. -Ed.)
