'A NEW SENIOR ADV' IS WELCOME STEP

I am relieved on reading the write-up of Sri RBK about the good news that the president and GS of ARIEF have reached out to all parties in the matter of united approach and hope by now AIIEF has zeroed on an influential senior advocate as suggested by RBK.

Regarding the contempt case of the Chandigarh HC,  LIC has pleaded that benefits to be given to the petitioners are being calculated/assessed and that they would deposit the amount within six weeks from that date and the court has said let the needful be done within a period of six weeks and it would consider the release of the amount to the petitioners as and when they petition for the release of the amount deposited. If the LIC does not deposit the amount on expiry of the six weeks from the date of assurance the Chandigarh unit must be vigilant to report it to the court in a manner they deem fit.

There is a risk that LIC may again indulge in their pernicious interpretation of the Jaipur judgment at the time of depositing the money in the Jaipur HC. They had not added the 11,25% after up-gradation as on 1-8-97 and then substituting the revised basic pension from 2002 & 2007, and had not deposited any amount to post 1-8-97 retirees,. Is there any way to guard against this mischief if they again indulge in it?
