This is his (KML’s) standard response. “Don’t question or comment against my strategy. If you do, I quit, you take over”. Used to be only in small private groups earlier. Good, he is now out in the public. There are two people who are singled out and excluded in all his communications lately. Mr Brij Jit Singh and Mr Sreenivasa Murty. Both raise inconvenient questions on his so-called strategy. Mr K Gopalan expressed a similar view now. All hell broke loose. Here are those questions.
  • 1. The two new cases in Jaipur – (Nos: 3471 -3508 / 2014): Are they not still in 'Notice for Admission' stage? By your own admission, if LIC files a reply, you will have to ask for time to file the Counter. In the meantime Pensioners all over the country will be bombarded with messages on the NEXT DATE of hearing. You know pretty well that the WPs may be admitted or may be dismissed even at this stage. Even if admitted, final decision on the prayers can only be a few years later. If the WPs are eventually allowed, will not LIC go for review/appeal to the Division Bench first and SC later? Why then give all false hopes to pensioners in general in the name of these two new cases? Can you tell in simple language, what you expect from these two cases in Jaipur and when?
  • 2. What have you done to the 13 Feb Order of Justice Chauhan in Jaipur? Have you accepted the dismissal of CC as ‘withdrawn’ to obtain clarification? LIC is sure to quote this again in Chandigarh when their CC comes up on July 7? What is your advice to them to overcome the problem and press for continuing with the contempt matter?
  • 3. What is your real purpose of filing the IA in SC on 6 May in Chandigarh matter? While all the office bearers of the AIRIEF deny any knowledge of this strange move of yours, what is your real aim? Is it done in your private individual capacity? If so are LIC pension cases your private litigation matters?
  • 4. Your winning the cases in Jaipur first and some of LIC’s SLPs being dismissed in SC later – Does it give you permanent immunity from accountability in your later strategy?
  • 5. Notwithstanding the high-decibel outbursts of a handful of your supporters, do you admit that the money you have been spending includes contributions of many pensioners far and wide? Including that of pensioners who are NOT even members of AIRIEF? Has anybody asked you publicly for an ‘Account’?
Why then is all this posturing? What are you defending?
  • 6. IS THIS A PROPER STRATEGY AND IS OUT OF BOUNDS FOR ANYBODY TO QUESTION?
It is never too late. Change the strategy from “I decide everything – if you question, I quit, and you take over”. This is not fair driving.
