RULES ARE MADE FOR BENEFIT OF THE USERS, NOT FOR RULES, writes Shri SK MAZUMDER.

It is a fact that Pension for March can not be credited on 31st March, but can it not be credited on 1st April when on line banking transactions are made? Even one can withdraw money from ATM on 1st April, as I did it to-day.

I narrate one of my experiences in the following few lines. In the year 2011, 1st october was a Bank closing, 2nd october has always been holiday, 3rd onwards for a fewdays offices were to remain closed (NI ACT) for durga Puja. According to older traditions, pensions were to be credited not earlier than 7th.

I emailed to ZM/EZO and pension cell/EZO requesting to issue instructions to divisions to take appropriate action. Actions were taken and pension was credited to respective bank accounts on 29/30th Sept. Since then, KMDO-I have been making disbursements mosty on the last day of the months with a few exceptions of pension credit on 1st.

Rules are made for benefit of the users, not for rules' sake.
