CH MAHADEVAN

I saw following post in the Calicut blog:
"It is good news that in the ensuing LIC Board meeting where Secretary, MOF will be present, the CCP will be discussed and it was very timely that the Vice-President of ARIEF made contacts with some Board members to create an awareness of our problem and we hope that some fruitful discussion takes place in favor of us. It is possible that it was for this reason the adjournment was sought by LIC. "

  • The brief announcement in the blog carries a question mark(?).  I also got a phone call from one of my friends stating that the CCP is the single point agenda for the LIC Board meeting on 13th inst.
As we are anxious about an early favourable legal outcome we tend to receive such reports at face value. May be it is one of the items on the agenda or it may come up under 'any other item', but it cannot be an exclusive item. The valuable time of the Board will be utilized by LIC for transacting other important items as well especially when the last quarter of the financial year is approaching.

So my personal opinion is that we should not read too much into the adjournment of the CCP to 3rd January 2014 as linked to the Board meeting as we have been experiencing that, Board meeting or no Board meeting, Court adjournments have been taking place often in our cases.
