Dear Shri Asthana,
- It is nice that at long last you have decided to speak out. True that the Supreme Court order dated 8th August 2013 has said that the earlier interim order stands automatically vacated. That was also the end of the Special Leave Application No. 29956 of 2011. My question here is, now that the SLP under reference is dismissed and interim orders automatically vacated, will the Life Insurance Corporation of India claim the amount in deposit in the Rajasthan High Court ?
We had initially expected that LIC would be compelled to deposit a huge amount of a hundred crores of Rupees or so in the Court. Now that there is no mention of this amount in the latest orders, do you think that we have lost the whole case and that LIC has been able to have the entry of their appeal without depositing 'a single Rupee'.
If you think the pensioners are entitled to know the proceedings in the Supreme Court, can you issue a statement explaining the situation that culminated in the admission of what is now come to be known as 'fresh SPL'.
Ban on discussion doesn't lead us anywhere. When no point is explained, an ordinary pensioner gets the unfortunate impression that he is not taken into confidence and that somebody is trying to hide something from these poor souls.
Yours sincerely,
PAVAN K. RAJ
