The diatribe flung
between the two pensioner’s associations at times crossing the Lakshman reka
reminds me an episode in Mahabaratha.
Dronachariar was training the Pandavas the art of archery. He was not happy with the kids as they were often quarrelling over trivial matters. To teach them the importance of unity he summoned them to assemble before him. He gave each one a stick and asked them to break which effortlessly they did. He bundled 3 sticks and asked them to break which they could do not so easily. He bundled several sticks to break. The boys tried and tried but could not. When asked why they failed Arjuna said that as the sticks were united it acquired greater strength and so we could not break.
If only our pensioners fraternity not forgetting that we are the birds of the same feather to flock together and were united to achieve a common goal matters would not have been so difficult as of now leading to a spate of civil suits emerging in different courts across the country keeping our fingers crossed and GOI/LIC taking advantage of it.

Can we expect some wisdom to dawn?
