It may be seen from the above table that Column 1 gives the Basic Pay of officers (government)
retired from 01-01-1986 to 31-12-1995. From Rs.4500 to 7300. These basics almost conform
to the basic pay at the maximum of our 1987 pay scales of AO (4520); ADM (5050) ; DM (5350);
 SDM (5950) ; ZM (6550) and ED (7000).

The notionally revised basic pension from 01-01-2016 of an officer retired from central
government service on the basic pay of Rs.4500 (near to the basic pay of AO at the maximum
at 4520 as mentioned in the foregoing paragraph) is indicated in column No.7 and it is Rs.72100
and the Family Pension indicated in Column 8 is Rs.43260. Our AO retired in 1987 pay scales
should feel happy and elavated with 70 slabs increase in DR to get gross pension of
Rs.23041 (BP+DR) on March 1, 2019 , instead of at getting Rs.72100.00 plus Rs.8652.00
(12% DR) = Rs.80752.00 !!

We better not talk of family pensioners !? All the family pensioners - in good health - of LIC
must sit in dharna at their centres....

The notional pension of an officer of central government retired with basic pay of Rs.6900
(near to our ED's basic pay of Rs.7000)  is also fixed at Rs.72100.00 (?). His gross pension
is Rs.80752.00 as worked out above. This amount is 2.80 times more than the February, 2019
gross pension of Rs.28762.00 of the ED retired at the maximum of 1987 pay scale. Pity !

Some days back, Subbu Sir wrote in Chat column that our leaders must plead on the issue
updation of pension. This view has been voiced repeatedly by S/S. Mehtaji , Aggarwalji and
some others. Some leaders, as reported in some circulars, seems to have decided to
concentrate on the main issue of updation of pension.

Some of us always cherished the hope that the Supreme Court would decide soon. The
judges often speak on a public platform of clearing the pending cases fast. Let us hope
the judges would walk the talk and walk the walk.Hope our cases will come up for final hearing in March,
2019.

May God bless LIC pensioners and family pensioners.
