Shri M Sreenivasa Murty is a man of his words. He saw to it
the 'mention' was made on December, 4 as planned by him a day before. Hon. Justice Shri Dipak Misra's short pronouncement is specific and clear. He has ordered payment to Chandigarh petitioners without prejudice to the issue of wrong computation by LIC. Thus, the interlocutory application stands disposed off. The petitioners shall be paid in next few days.
It is pertinent to note with this order, Hon. Justice Shri Misra has turned all the petitioners of Jaipur, Delhi and Chandigarh 'equidistant' for the case adjourned to 20-01-2016. No supersession post retirement. One-upmanship not any more. It is time for meeting of minds. Nurture fellow feeling. Come together, work together. All for mutual good. All for common good.
No one can foretell when the Supreme Court will finally decide our case. But, we all know that it is at the crucial stage. May be two / three months more of awaiting.
There are other pending issues - full pension after 20 years of service, fixation of pension at 50% of the average of last ten months pay or last pay drawn whichever is more beneficial to the employee, fixation of family pension at 30% etc. discussed several times in the columns of LIC PC. The leaders of the in- service employees may take the lead. The leaders of the retired employees have now some spare time. All join hands and resolve these matters with the Chairman, with the Board of Directors etc. in next few months.
