MY RESPONSE TO MR M V VENUGOPALAN

I am in complete agreement with the compliments paid by Mr Venugopalan to Mr G N Sridharan.

But my personal view is that the compliments would have been complete if only the Class I Retirees’ Federation had been more transparent towards its members in respect of the following:

· The letter dated 6/7/2015 addressed by LIC Central Office to the Federation has not been circulated to its members, but only the gist of the same is known through Mr G N Sridharan’s communication which was posted in LIC Pensioners’ Chronicle. I may hasten to add that it does not mean that whatever he has conveyed is disputed;

· The list of reportedly 1266 members that the Federation sent to LIC Central Office has not been made public to the Federation’s own members who are anxiously struggling to know whether their names are finding a place in the list- especially by those who have not got the IR credited to their accounts so far.

In the absence of such open communications, the aggrieved members had to make frantic calls to some Association office bearers to know what will happen to their payments. Such members had also to telephonically contact similarly placed pensioners to compare notes on their anguish;

· I don’t know whether the Federation will communicate at least to its eligible members the list of members to whom interim relief has been paid out of those in the complete list sent to the Corporation;

· It is not known whether any steps have been taken to secure interim relief for the family pensioners of deceased members, which if had been done will clearly expose LIC's mischief that the family pensioners may in fact need to pay excess received by them according to the LIC formula of calculations.If the Federation does not expose LIC in this regard,it will be deemed to be in collusion with LIC Management for the wrong payments made/being made by them.

Let us hope that the Retiree Class I Federation members achieve 100% customer delight!

With greetings,
C H Mahadevan
