Dear Editor,
It
was very wise and thoughtful
of Sreenivasamurty to don his
advocate's
robe in her absence
and present before the court
his defense instead of
seeking
adjournment which normally
any body will do and which
has been
happening earlier too.
What is baffling is that LIC as against the
liability of 4.70 crores due to the petitioners remitted into the court
registry a paltry sum of 33 lakhs which has no relationship to the
liability and hurriedly filed a petition to withdraw 20 % of this 33
lakhs to hoodwink the judiciary that they have complied with the SC
order of MAY 7TH.
We have come to know of this through Murty's mail. On
28 inst the truth will come out whether there was a willful contempt of
court.
It does not matter who took the initiative so long as his efforts
has brought some result and has not harmed anybody.
We should be
magnanimous in acknowledging such effort.
