Shri P. Ramanathan compared the tortuous waiting for the next hearing of our case in SC in the month of September 2015 with a spiritual exercise. We have to wait for 4 months and the Vratha recommended by Shri Ramanathan is called Chaturmasa Vratha - a period of intense meditation, restricted food etc. to purify the soul. The comparison ends there.

- The recommended vratha is practised by Sanyasis, that is those who renounced worldly matters. Sanyasis do not have to think of pension or corpus. They are maintained by the devotees and disciples. Some of them are jet set and globe trotting also.

But we are simple souls immersed in our Grihastha ( Householder) dharma. We look forward to the first day of every month and also worry about meeting our bills. We have not renounced anything. In fact we are worried how to meet the increased expenditure for our needs in the context of spiralling prices and think of the static pensions which do not move upwards with every wage revision for regular staff.
Individuals can practice any vratha. But for our group the only vratha that would be proper is resorting to some kind of agitation to press for implementation of the SC order for all pensioners.

We can make a start with simple steps like post card campaign also, slowly moving up the ladder towards Dharnas and Hunger Strikes. That way let us see whether we can soften the hardened administration.
Non-Violent agitation is all about bringing a change in the thinking of our adversaries. It looks we have to educate many including those in service ( Remember Mr. Anonymous)
