7th May 2015 .. What a day?
I am getting anxious enquiries from my contemporaries about Supreme Court order on 7th May 2015.
All I could tell them was that the Court did not negate our demand for improvement in Pension.
Practically my mind has become numb after going through the operating portion of the order.
Now we have good number of Bhashyakars who render expert interpretation. What matters is how LIC/UOI interpret the order. If it is in their power LIC/UOI wish
to kill us( all of us) with one stroke.
In all this Shri CH. Mahadevan's suggestion that AIRIEF must implead itself looks very sensible. I am inclined to add another suggestion. The organisations representing the employees ( in-service) are maintaining a deafening silence. Their demands include
2nd option for Pension and going back to " Defined Benefit Pension Scheme."
Time they speak out. All along their faithfuls in pensioners' organisations are speaking and commenting. Now that wage negotiations in Banks are in a final and concluding stage, LIC is expected to invite the Unions in LIC for talks. This is the proper time for Unions in LIC to state their position on Updation of Pension. Or are they waiting to see the outcome in Banks, which is definitely a bigger sector?
For now our case managers have to strain themselves alongwith their learned counsels to secure an order which would mean the same to both petitioners and respondents.
The heat generated by the order of 7th May 2015 is more severe than the summer heat outside.
