THE POST BY THE ANONYMOUS WRITER

I saw the post by an anonymous well wisher of the Corporation and policyholders dated 4th April 2015 in LICPC.

I find my name also being mentioned by him as one whose contribution was not liked by him. He is certainly entitled to his opinion. I am a retired HGA and so felt happy that the anonymous Knight tagged my name with my seniors and superiors.

I would have felt happier if he took pains to point out what was wrong in my postings. He bracketed all contributors and gave vent to his feelings.

I recall that my contributions were general in nature and content. I wrote about the deficiencies in implementation of mediclaim scheme and what needs to be done. I also posted about the supreme court case and tried to view it in a class perspective. I might have commented about the system in general but I do not remember to have criticised any official high or low who by the nature of their duties implement the decisions taken by government or LIC management.

Even at my age of 72, I participated in the demonstrations and meetings conducted by the employees' associations protesting against changes in insurance laws and increase of FDI to 49 per cent which is against the interests of LICI and its policyholders. Is the anonymous knight doing anything to safeguard LIC and protect policyholders' interests? Will be happy to know.

Regards, B. Ganga Raju Hyderabad

We feel, Shri Ganga Raju has perhaps misunderstood the anonymous writer. The writer has only made a passing mention of the names of writers who regularly contribute to the Chronicle.  He thinks that persons who voice their disagreement with the way the LIC officials deal with our pension issues wouldn't have done any better even if they were themselves in the helm of affairs in LIC. That's the dig he attempts to give.

Here, even assuming that if one of us were the Finance Minister of India, we would have faced the same problems and wouldn't  have perhaps done any better. We cannot dismiss the author for the views expressed by him. Perhaps all of us know these points only too well. Here the writer holds such views and he has also the tenacity to express the same. We are fascinated by his argument skill. We have a feeling that we know this gentleman.  He is one of those who talks to us but we don't think he has ever contributed a post in Chronicle. The postal seal is visible. But then we do not wish to look into his identity details. He has a right to remain anonymous. He has a right to privacy. Let him enjoy the same. -Ed.
