'DIFFICULT TO DIGEST'

Dear Editor,

I have gone through the post “DIFFICULT TO DIGEST”.

At the outset I appreciate your magnanimity in publishing the letter of an anonymous writer in the true spirit of accommodating every point of view in the Chronicle. But Mr Anonymous should have been courageous enough to have come out openly with his treatise revealing his identity. I do not wish to enter into the exercise of rebuttal of the points made out by the author point by point. I leave it to the enlightened visitors of the blog at large to come to their own conclusions.

It is amusing to note the postscript in the post which clearly demonstrates that when he prefers to remain anonymous as the author of the post, he wants to take hasty personal pot-shots on innocent pensioners. Owning Mercedez Benz cars and taking frequent foreign trips does not make individual pensioners insensitive to the plight of fellow pensioners. Nowadays, in spite of being poor pensioners, hundreds of LIC pensioners and even some family pensioners undertake foreign trips out of family necessities and not for luxury jaunts.

It makes me wonder how can one be an anonymous well-wisher of the Corporation and Policyholders, when he doesn’t even have the courage to take responsibility for whatever is penned in the post by revealing his identity.

The last sentence in the post sounds like a death wish for the fraternity of pensioners when he states that he wishes that the Supreme Court will see reason in the arguments of the Government and quash the Jaipur judgment and all other HC judgments.

And a final question. Does Mr Anonymous enjoy any special favours from LIC?
