The train is not moving.
It is halted at Outer Signal.
For those who wished to see the train reach the platform,
it is a tortuous wait.
Now the case appears to have come back to square one and perhaps it is to be heard ab-initio. I may be wrong as I am not one with experience in court matters. But my common sense tells me that at this stage arguments about maintainability of SLPs would take a few sittings of the Bench. The merits of the case would come only after the maintainability aspect is settled.
In one of my posts in LICPC I indulged in loud thinking whether the case would reach a finality before the Summer Vacation holidays for Supreme Court commence. The case is now adjourned to 22nd April. The vacations commence by 15th May. In between how many working days are there for SC and on how many days we can expect our case to come up before the bench? What if the UOI and LIC seek more time and more adjournments? For UOI this is not a case of urgent political interest. They will not seek speedy disposal.
Anyway what choice do we have except wait patiently? But such are the uncertainties in court matters. It would not be wise to make any comment about today's proceedings without knowing the rationale behind the move to question maintainability. Let us hope that every thing that is happening is in the interests of our pensioner community.
Our health is precious and we have to guard our health by switching off our thinking faculties about the fate of the case. If someone says this is fatalism, let it be so.
