PENSIONERS DENIED 9700 CRORES FOR OVER 17 YEARS

Why should we get unnerved by the mention of Rs 9700 crores payable by LIC if upgradation is effected?
  • In fact it only clearly demonstrates that pensioners have been denied a whopping Rs 9700 Cr (presumably excluding interest lost by pensioners) as a result of non-upgradation of pension over a period of more than 17 years by not getting upgraded pension, not to speak of additional loss of denied amounts from 1/11/1993 to 31/7/1997 on account of unresolved DR anomaly. This denial has happened because of not amending LIC Pension Rules 1995 which has resulted in discrimination and LIC/GOI violating articles 14 & 16 of the Indian Constitution.
Our counsel should forcefully place this argument before the Supreme Court Bench.
