I note the urgency mooted by Sri Sreenivasa Murthy on the above subject. As the new policy year is about to commence in about 2 months from now, it is absolutely necessary to put pressure on the Management to introduce cashless admission and treatment to employees and retirees from 1-4-2016, which New India is prepared to offer at no cost or minimum cost. There cannot be any strong reason for LIC not to accept this offer, which is more relevant now as the extended target amount optable is 20 Lakhs, This kind of money none of us can arrange with any amount of serious effort to pay to the Hospital at the time of discharge.
I may also point out here that HAL has recently extended Medi-claim facility to all those retired earlier to 2007 without any need to pay premium except one time registration fee of Rs. 250. The cover is a floater policy for retired and spouse for 4 Lakhs on cashless basis through Mediassist and covers OPD expenses of Rs. 20000 on floater basis on reimbursement basis. HAL will credit 1.5% of the profit to a fund to meet the expenses.
Now is the time to raise our voice " Let New India give US what their employees and retirees get" and urge LIC to accede.
