I read with interest the write up by
Smt. Chitra Vishwanathan and comments
by Shri V.S.Rajamani on attachment and
detachment and then saw the cartoon by
the Chronicle.

The LICPC was viewed 12790 times in four days from 14 to 17 Jan. 2015, 3200 times per day ! What does it indicate?
The cartoon is like a selfie and evoked a bit of honest laughter. As said by somebody, the ability to have a good laugh - especially at ones/your own expense - in the gloomy days is essential for survival.
Probably, no other pensioners belonging to any other organisation in India must have fought the legal battle for updation of pension and 100% DR most relentlessly with their employer and GOI like the pensioners of LIC for such long period of time.
The omnipresent, the omnipotent and the OMNISCIENT Lord Krishna knew that Arjuna would fight the Dharmayudda, the battle of Kurukshetra after long counselling and persuasion. He knew the outcome of the battle between Pandavas and Kauravas. He also knew that the battle would end in eighteen days.
We are not gods, we are human beings. We cannot take any thing for granted.
There's another disappointing news to pensioners appearing in the PC on 19-01-2015 that the hearing fixed for 21-01-2015 may get postponed by two weeks. The pensioners shall have to put up with further delay. PC will inform in due course of time the date by which the S.C. would take up the cases for final disposal. (SC has rejected LIC-Advocate's request in this connection and confirmed that the Appeal will be taken up on 21st inst. itself at No.1. -Ed.)
" Samayase pahale.......nahi milataa". Every word of it is TRUE.
