Supreme Court of India

Sir,

I was wondering as to how many days the Supreme court works in a year. Apart from 104 Saturdays and Sundays, summer holidays (53 days including Saturdays and Sundays), holi festival holidays (6) Christmas vacation (13 days including Saturdays and Sundays), and a month of other holidays the court actually sits for only 189 days in a year. Being the trend setter and and a guide for the nation is it worthwhile to enjoy this luxury of closing the court for almost five months in a year. No wonder the cases are piling up and so the agony. Is there any scope to curtail the holidays. Only the learned judges of the apex court can answer
(or is it a contempt of court matter?)
