No choice but wait for Supreme Court verdict

Dear Editor

It is very unfortunate that the new incumbent Secretary has been moulded by the senior officials of the Ministry to take a very unhelpful and rigid attitude on the long pending demands of LIC Pensioners for periodical pension Revision on par with the CG Employees and SG Employees. Notwithstanding the fact that our just demand has been very amply supported by the Judiciary of the country in as many as 3 HCs and the SC has refused to grant stay against the implementation of the HC judgement, he is harping the age old "ripple effect" on the Banking Sector to deny our rightful and justified Demand.

Does it mean that LIC the premier Public Sector Undertaking has no independence and always has remained as an underdog of Banking Sector, despite the fact that LIC unlike Banks is a Kamadhenu for the CG for pittance investment. Should not LIC be treated in a better way for the splendid performance amongst the PS undertakings? Really it is very sad state of affairs.

There appears to be no solution for our long pending struggle except to wait for the highest court of the country to come to rescue of the poor and fragile LIC pensioners.
