Buffaloes queuing up to board flights in Surat!

(Chronicle)

Buffaloes on the runway of Surat's airport is yet another evidence of the success of the Gujarat model of development, the state's chief minister Happyben Dhokla claimed on Friday. This comes on the back of taunts by political rivals saying the incident makes a bovine comedy of the tall claims of progress in the Bhartiya Junta Party (BJP)-ruled state.

"A plane hit a buffalo on the runway while taking off. This flies in the face of the claims of the earlier chef minister and now country's Primary Minister Mitron Chappaninch," Junta Dal (Underarm) chief Stubble Kumar alleged. "They don't have tails like buffaloes to swat the flies off their face," he added.

CM Happyben Dhokla was fast to retort. "Our motto has been 'Sabke saath, sabka vikas' and that includes our *bovine brethren. This is nothing but the result of the Gujarat model of development that buffaloes are queuing up to board flights," she said.
