I am happy to announce that a proposal to make
a “Mention” before the concerned Bench of the Hon’ble Supreme Court, requesting
for ‘’out of turn” hearing of LIC’s Appeals” has received the required concurrence
from Sri G N Sridharan. He discussed the move with his Advocate on Record, who
in turn agreed to support the move, appropriately. Sri GNS did offer his
analysis of the procedural and other implications which are very well received,
being totally relevant.
Last sentence of the circular GN SRIDHARAN had personally handed over to the Chronicle Editor. |
This move is being pursued seriously but with
great caution. Unfortunately, hearing in the ‘normal course’ is not in sight
(because
our batch of cases is still at Sl No 47 as of today) and hence we are taking
a chance to try a permissible course open to us. While our success (in getting
an early definite date) depends upon the unfettered discretion of Justice Dipak
Misra, (influenced by our own luck – I believe we have it in plenty), we are
sure, no harm would befall when we make a passionate plea on behalf of the
super senior citizens, many of whom are in their eighties.
