Dear Editor,
This refers to ' Mention to take place soon '
by Shri Sreenivasa Murty. Most of the pensioners individually or
collectively fighting for their long pending legitimate rights are over
70 some of them past 80 in age and most of them are suffering from age
related diseases and living with borrowed time. To them an early
settlement of what they should get by several court decrees awaiting the
final order from the Apex court is what they are very much concerned.
In
the interregnum unfortunately several of their counter parts left this
world and this is what is worrying them for they could also be a
victim. The way how the wheels of the judiciary is grinding slowly the
news that there is from the Constitution a privilege to us called "Mention" whereby we can convince the
court for an early hearing brought cheers to these hapless
pensioners. Ours is a fitting case to ask for Mention as we have several
genuine reasons to ask for it and on humanitarian grounds too. Be that as
it may I do not know in what way such a genuine request on humanitarian
grounds would fail to invoke sympathy from the Hon Judge who gives a
hearing and in what way it will interfere the other contemplated actions
in the suits.
Having reached the last stage and very near to
the goal let there not be any bickering among us and any good move from
any direction should be endorsed with the fond hope that there are no
more tiring adjournments and no more from the pensioners fraternity
leaving this earth before the final outcome from the apex court. This
shall be my prayer.
