Thus it is clear that GOI is convinced over the disparity in paying the DR for the same class of pensioners by adopting an irrational cut off date which will not stand in any court of law. The perusal of the two memorandums submitted by us at the right time will certainly draw the attention of GOI who being convinced that the DA anomaly is ultravires may look forward to have this issue discussed and negotiated across the board which would earn them the sobriquet “ People’s government”or ”Government in action".
Although I am averse to indulge in any diatribe as we have
unfortunately seen enough of this of late and some crossing the Lakshman reka
knowingly or unknowingly in passing remarks I am inclined to bring forth here
what SHRI Asthana said in the diatribe between
him and Shri MSM :-
“ I am not inclined in getting the authority of GOI settled.
The SLPs are not going to be decided in AUGUST, they will take time as per the
procedure itself whatever we may do.“Asthana himself admits that 12 TH AUGUST
is not going to be the end of the day. In the circumstances the worst sufferers
are the pre 1997 pensioners who were getting lesser DA all these years and who
are already in the sun set of their life. What is wrong for a negotiated
settlement should GOI agree to talk on this issue.
