EACH ADVOCATE SHD PLEAD FOR IMPLEMENT HIS HIGH COURT ORDER

There appears to be some fear in the minds of friends of Sri Asthana that his contribution to
the welfare of the LIC pensioners is being discounted and he is being criticised for his strategy. No one can discount his contribution. But for him the pension-related problems of LIC pensioners would not have acquired this much of lime light and reached the final stage for redressal  as at present. Can any one refuse to accept the  bench mark judgment of Jaipur HC judgment  that formed the bed rock to Chandigarh and Delhi H.C judgements. That It is he who fought the mighty to get a favourable judgment in various courts  cannot be lightly dismissed.

There is an attempt to pit GNS against  Asthana or pit Sri Asthana against Sri Brij Jit Singh of Chandigarh. Sri Singh's role in the success of Petition filed in Chandigarh High Court started by drafting the Plaint and offering Legal advice throughout.  There is a small talk of his being empanelled by a Division. What of it? His contribution too is praise worthy. Chandigarh HC case was fought under AIRIEF banner?   Mr GNS was in Bangalore last week and he said that he would pursue the case in the SC in his own own way. Very well.

There is merit in Mr Srinivasa Murty's plea that each advocate should plead for implementation of his courts judgment but his *acerbic comments on others could  be better avoided.

Chronicle Editor has tough times ahead !

But due to some distraction Sri Asthana was forced to plead "liberty to seek clarification of the Jaipur High Courts judgment" and LIC took advantage of it in Chandigarh HC contempt proceedings that the petitioners of Jaipur HC have themselves asked for liberty to seek clarification of the judgment and we will implement here as per clarification provided by Jaipur HC.  If LIC takes a similar plea in SC what strategy Mr Asthana and his advocate adopt to counter such a plea, we have to wait and see. Mr Asthana appearts to have neither sought any clarification nor has he withdrawn his plea for clarification. May be ever vigilant Asthana has something up his sleeves.

What we don't Know: The contents of hundreds of pages LIC has submitted to Supreme Court.

We have a little more than 2 months before our tryst with Supreme Court and let us hope and pray may BETTER WISDOM be dawn on our leaders.
