At the instance of Jt Sec. AIRIEF, Sh IP Puri, I deem it my pleasure and privilege to append below report of Jt Sec.(North) AIRIEF, Chandigarh on the occasion of foundation Day of AIRIEF , and which was also observed as a protest Day by all the pensioners of Tricity ( Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula), irrespective of their class or cadre or their affiliation with any Union/ Assn./ Federation. Retired employees (belonging to all classes ie. I,II,III,IV) had assembled in front of the Divisional office, LIC in Sec.-17, Chandigarh raised slogans of PENSIONERS UNITY.
Besides AIRIEF, the Memorandum was also given on behalf of RETIRED LIC OFFICERS ASSOCIATION, CHANDIGARH, AND THE TRICITY PENSIONERS FORUM.

Report of Jt Sec AIRIEF
As per the directive of Federation Chandigarh unit observed the Protest Day today the 5th December 2013 the Foundation Day of Federation. In our monthly meeting held on 1st December, we discussed all the modalities in which this day should be celebrated and I am pleased to inform you that all the members took keen interest and gave valuable suggestions.The draft of the memorandum was prepared by Sh H K Aggarwal and circulated for comments, but it cameback with great applause which was finally accepted by Sh Kishore, VP, AIRIEF grading it as SUPERB.
Our Jt Secy of Chandigarh unit of AIRIEF, Mr I K Thakral did burn mid night oil to prepare large number of copies so that the same could be distributed to all present in the gate meeting. As planned, a large number of pensioners assembled at the gate of Divisional office Chandigarh. Our local president Mr R K Sharma briefed the gathering and raised slogans such as SUPREME COURT KE ORDER KA SAMMAN KARO, REVISED PENSION KA BHUGTAN KARO" (Respect the Supreme court orders and pay upgraded pension)
Thereafter I read out the Memoranda and also briefed the audience about legal matter and the outcome of 29th November proceedings of Jaipur High court since myself and Mr H K Aggarwal attended the court on 29th. Finding that there was sufficient time for the scheduled time of handing over the Memorandum, many members came out and raised the slogans. At 13.40 hrs we entered the Sr DM's Sectt and handed over the Memorandum to Manager (P& IR) since the Sr DM was out of town.
