It may be noted that those who retired before the 01-08-1997 have completed 15 years or more post retirement and get full basic pension (commuted pension restored). Many among them are 80/85 years old as of 2013. It would have been better if these elderly LIC pensioners had received 20% and 30% additional pension benefit over and above the presently drawn pension like GOI pensioners of their age group.
All courts have opined in favour Shri Asthanaji and others/all pensioners. It should be ensured that the additional - age related - pension should be retrospectively from 01-01-2006 and the family pension (30%) should be retrospectively from date(as per rules ) of demise of pensioner/employee.

All those retired from 1986 to 1997 July, 31 can work out the D.R. difference they would get for the period Aug.2013 to Jan.2014 if they are given the benefit of 100% D.R. - as indicated below:
Basic Pension x 771.84
------------------------------- = Amount of D.R. to those retired with 1986 pay scales.
100
Basic Pension x 355.25
------------------------------- = Amount of D.R. to those retired with 1993 pay scales.
100
An Example :
Shri Anurag Kulkarni retired as AAO at the maximum of AAO’s pay scale of 1986 (say,Rs.4260/). His basic pension is Rs.2130/-. He gets D.R. on graded/tapering basis. He got a total pension of Rs.17024/- (Rs.2130/- + Rs.14894/- D.R. on tapering basis) on 01-09-2013.
With D.R. at 100%, he would get ( Rs.2130 x771.84 /100 =Rs.16441/- D.R. and a total pension of Rs.18571/-. Just a meagre increase of Rs.1547/-. The increase/difference in pension will be ‘little’ more (not substantial) for higher grades of AO, ADM etc. retired with 1986 pay scales.
The package/pension position of Shri Anurag would be ‘enviable’ as and when he gets updation of pension as well as 100% D.R. Please see below :
The total pension of AAO retired at the maximum of pay scales of 1986, 2002 and 2007(stagnation increments not included – and without commutation) for Aug.2013 to Jan.2014

(E&OE )
The disparity of pension drawn by AAO, the lowest grade of officers, who has been deprived of periodic revision of pension along with every pay revision is telling/very obvious.
All the - ‘old’ - and lower category - pre 1997 pensioners are living as if with ‘subsistence pension’ and with all the age related health problems .
The justice has been delayed beyond tolerance point. The fair and favorable justice to pensioners seem to be matter of few weeks.
Old age, death are inevitable and certain. Shri Sridharan’s concern for old and very old pensioners can be marginally mitigated, if Shri Ashtanaji and all other leaders ensure to obtain all benefits retrospectively. They may be well aware of the GOI instruction for extending pension benefits to kith and kins (legal heir(s), under certain circumstances, which reads as under:
“In cases where the pensioner and family pensioner was alive as on 01-01-1996 /01-01-2006 (i.e. material date from which pension benefits are given) and died subsequently, his/her legal heir(s) is/are entitled to arrears w.e.f. 01-01-1996/2006 till the date of death of pensioner/ family pensioner. For this, legal heir(s) have to apply to Pension Sanctioning Authority." (LIC to us).
