Shri Kishore has written his observations about
Nithin's comments contained in his regular column
"Between the Lines".
This time, what Shri Kishore has written is a precis of his article published with the title "Arguments for rebuttal of Affidavit of Government of India and SLP". Those who have not read Shri Kishore's earlier article published in 4 posts are advised to read the present observations. And they will get a rough idea of his original article. That is perhaps the immediate advantage of a 'provocative' article by Nithin.
Shri RK Viswanathan came out in defence of Shri Kishore. We could get his expert comments. We could also get yet another article from Shri Kishore.
In the pretext of writing a review of the article, one of the complaints is that Nithin wrote a new article. This could have been avoided! He should have written an article on NATIONAL POLICY FOR GOVT. UNDERTAKINGS as altogether a separate one. If the Editor is convinced that there should be criticism, nothing but healthy criticism, Nithin should have no problem.
Shri GN Sridharan wrote, he had a long talk with the Director (Personnel) when he (ED) agreed to consider the issues relating to "re-fixation of pension for the following 2 categories viz (1) those who had Retired between 1-8-92 &1-4-1993, and (2) Pensioners whose date of birth falling on 1st of calendar month.
Shri Surinder Sood wrote: "We are fully aware that even after the SLP is dismissed, it will not be a smooth sailing because LIC with the backing of GOI will try their level best to somehow deny the benefits to LIC Pensioners. We have such apprehensions after reading the contents of the affidavit filed by MOF, GOI."
Maybe we are having different lines of campaign, but let us all agree to Shri Surinder when he says "LIC with the backing of GOI will try their level best to somehow deny the benefits to LIC Pensioners. We have such apprehensions after reading the contents of the affidavit filed by MOF, GOI. ".

Your Editor is getting married again! And he intents to get out of 'CALICUT' also. When popularity increases, old identity becomes a liability. And some people crave for new identities. Cricketer Azhruddin got married to Sangeeta at the peak of his cricketing career.
Believe it or not, your Editor too wants to shed off his present identity and acquire new one. He is looking for greener pastures. Shri Aggarwal has already sent him a proposal.
Watching from close quarters, I have a feeling that he will soon have a new identity.
It is just that the name has not been finalised. He has not made up his mind. He is looking for fresh proposals also. But one thing is certain now. It is that marriage will take place. After all he is 68 years young!
Thank you friends, bye for now till we meet again. Hopefully I will come again to you with a review if I am fired NOT, by your Editor!
Tail piece
Your Editor very often boasts of page hits. He has put himself ahead of all blogs of pensioners in India and will reach 100,000 page hits soon. Only 'dedication' can be cited as the only reason for this achievement.

Telephone War
Shri GN Sridharan wrote, he had a long talk with the Director (Personnel) when he (ED) agreed to consider the issues relating to "re-fixation of pension for the following 2 categories viz (1) those who had Retired between 1-8-92 &1-4-1993, and (2) Pensioners whose date of birth falling on 1st of calendar month.
Almost at the same time, Shri RB Kishore had also a talk, this time with the Managing Director Shri S.B. Mainak. Referring to this talk, Shri Kishore wrote to 'LIC Pensioners Calicut': "ALWAYS IT IS DESIRABLE WE MEET TOP MANAGEMENT AND DISCUSS OUR PENDING ISSUES. IT IS LIKE A CARAVAN MARCH FOR PENSIONERS & SOME LIGHT WILL COME AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL HOPEFULLY. "
There used to be meetings between the Management led by the Chairman and the Pensioners Representatives. Two former Chairmen have since retired without doing anything they had promised to do. Now we have changed our options and the Pensioners Associations are talking to lesser people!
Let us hope, at the end of the tunnel some light will come out. Pensioners are anxiously waiting for the same. If we judge things by the criteria as to who talked to whom, who talked longer time etc. Shri Kishore appears to be the winner in this telephone war since he talked to the MD and Shri Sridharan could talk only to the Executive Director!
