I am a pensioner ( 2004 model ! ). Therefore my stakes are different.
Normally I am a happy guy. I look at things in a different way. Every
time I only think of those less fortunate persons who retired from LIC
with PF and Gratuity. I consider myself as lucky that I retired atleast
with a pension amount to be drawn every month to the rest of my life.
I am again lucky because I could continue in service upto 60 years
while others retired at the age of 58 years. Also I am lucky compared
to those who retired prior to 1997(pre-1997 retirees).
Pre-1997 retirees have almost won their case without an iota of doubt.
But they don't get the amounts due for one reason or the other. Of course
pension updation question is also there. Personally speaking I have
a feeling that the question of DR should engage our immediate attention.
Out-of-court initiatives from pensioners' orgns. soon... |
The need of the hour is that capable persons/organisations should
come forward to do something. When more and more individuals come
forward with different ideas, there will emerge a definite solution acceptable
to all and surely things will get going.
If this discussion paves way for such initiatives, I would consider myself
to be a happier person...

Quote: Many to one: Banks are many but voice is one for their retirees as a whole. In contrast, LIC is one but views are divergent for its retirees although problems are almost identical. The two streams, DR and Revision, which should have been complementary, are found to be competing. As for one like me, the benefit is huge whichever is clinched (hopefully in lifetime) as my retirement dates back to
pension notification in 1995. Convergence of organisations’ efforts is the need of the hour.
§Time factor: Can our organisations not tailor a faster approach? Else, we, the pensioners as a whole, run the risk of disadvantageous (deferred) effective date, not to speak of unfortunate exits that are occurring often. This merits ‘out of the box’ thinking, although I believe that (a) the Ministry is going over the issue, and (b) the bank demands will quicken the pace of our legitimate demands being
met. Judicious view by champions is another need of the hour. Unquote.

Dear Mr.
Arunachalam and Mr. Thakoor
This is with
reference to LIC Pensioners pending court cases. Let us try : Congress and UPA
II is currently talking of Bharat Nirman - Haq Hai Mera(My right). To check
this realty it is suggested that we Pensioners should ask for our Haq (our
demands) from this UPA II Government directly instead waiting for the decision
of various Courts. As such, it is suggested we address our demands before the
Central Government/ Cabinet Ministers/ Cabinet Committee/Prime Minister of India
/Finance Minister to check their honesty and creditability.
As such it is
suggested that ............................... should make a draft representation on
Pensioners issue and members of LIC Unions/Associations be requested to forward
the request/representation to above entities.
Mr.
Arunachalam and Mr. R J Thakoor are requested to please take with Mr. ............... to take the lead. Needless
to mention that Mr. Asthana has also to be involved. Please examine the
technicalities to do so. This has to be done on Priorty.
Please provide
me email id of Mr. Gangadharan and LIC Pensioners Calicut to me.

Dear Mr.
Kapur,
Read your
letter carefully. Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru cared for the last and the
lost man in the society and wanted to wipe tears from every eye. But the
present day politicians think about the next general elections only.
The rhetoric
of Bharat Nirman – Haq Hai Mera is just the carrot dangled before the masses by
UPA – II keeping in view the general elections 2014. There is however a faint
hope that Sri. Oscar Fernandes and Sri. Madhusudan Mistry who have been closely
associated our Federation can effectively convey about our case to Smt. Sonia
Gandhi and Dr. Manmohan Singh. The Stock of Sri. Mistry is very high in the
eyes of the top dignitaries of the Congress Party because of the grand success
in the recent assembly elections of the State of Karnataka.
Further I am
in regular touch with Sri. Asthana and let me assure you that all top leaders
of Federation and Sri. Asthana are quite anxious to ensure that the final
judgement in our favour sees the light of the day without any further loss of
time and they are planning the strategy accordingly.
Every one of
us must now contribute his mite as soon as possible and strengthen the hands
and confidence of Sri. Asthana.
With Regards, Ravindra
