I’m receiving anxious enquiries from LIC pensioners…
They all want to know
what’s the present
position of the petitions
pending in the High Court
and the Supreme Court.
I try to explain. But all
my pleadings are of no avail.
Our pensioner-brethrens are all restless.
They want to have immediate result. But no significant
result is forthcoming….
The latest position is
this.
THERE IS A CONTEMPT
PETITION PENDING IN RAJASTHAN HIGH COURT.
But, as long as the
whole matter is pending in Supreme Court, we need not expect any significant
development to take place in the High Court.
NEXT COMES THE
CONTEMPT PETITION FILED IN THE SUPREME COURT.
It is understood, this
contempt petition emanates from the fact that LIC has failed to deposit the
amount Court had asked them to pay or deposit to the Court Registry. The court itself will interpret its own
orders in this matter. Let us wait and
see.
The all important legal
battle will be waged in the Court in the case of Special Leave Petition filed
by LIC. It was last listed on 7th
February 2012 and there are no further developments.
Let
us wait patiently. There will be clear
developments in this matter within a couple of months.
