M Sreenivasa Murty

(AND NOTHING ELSE)

Who among the LIC Pensioners (ignore the Organizations claiming to represent them and their Leaders who have their separate Agenda, Fund raising included) think that the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s Orders of 7 May & 7 Sept are meant to remain on paper?

Every effort is made from behind the scene to bail out LIC in spite of its flagrant violation of the categorical Order TO PAY. By one Organization/Petitioner which is a collusive ‘party to the fraud’. By another which cannot tolerate the existence of anyone else on this planet, except itself. How can one otherwise explain why no one (I mean the well-paid big mouths a.k.a. Sr. Advocates) could not demand that LIC should act fair and proper?

On the contrary, some claim shamelessly, ‘we are fighting for 100% why you are bothered about 20%? We are fighting for ALL pensioners you are representing only 31’.

ARE YOU? HOW EXACTLY?

Yet another strange argument – any focus on Interim Payment would delay Final Decision. This by such people, who never worked for, never believed in the final decision being possible soon. By the very people who were directly responsible for every avoidable delay till 7 May 2015.

I am not tired of repeating to explain my firm conviction that the directions to make interim payment of 20% is not all about merely receiving some money immediately but it is also about bringing ALL Pensioners under the umbrella for the benefit and extracting a decision (albeit interim) that the issue before the Court is on Pension up-gradation.

Let us all recall that the origin of the direction on 7 May to make interim payment lay in the entry by UoI through its fresh SLP causing further delay due to the adjournment to 23 Sept. When it was taken to the Notice of the Court on 7 Sept that nothing moved on 7 May Order, Court became furious. That day’s reaction of the Bench in the open Court and the stiff Order that followed is known to all. What has changed on 3oth? Is Panchkula Unit/Chandigarh Petitioners/Murty’s failure (if it was really so) your success? Sorry, our Pensioners deserve a better deal.

Has anybody applied his mind as to why LIC retained the SGI to represent it in the matter (dropping the most vocal Abhishek Manu Singhvi and the like)? When UoI also is in the picture through its fresh SLP?  If it escaped your attention till now, please think it over.
It is a big game plan.
