In Anticipation of a favourable verdict by the Apex Court :
May the dream of every pensioner come true.
We have been looking forward in all earnest for a favourable
judgement of the Supreme Court on updation of pension and 100% neutralisation
in Dearness Relief to pre 1st August, 1997 retirees. Our sustained faith in the
God and in the judiciary are going to be answered shortly. Any amount of praise
to all our leaders who are fighting the court cases relentlessly for more than
twelve years is insufficient. The Editor, LICPC has played a unique role in
keeping the readers abreast of the developments. To recall Rabindranath
Tagore," Everything comes to us that belongs to us, if we create the
capacity to receive it "
LIC will have to revise the pension and
dearness relief to its retired employees corresponding to the successive
revision of scales of pay that took place since 1986. Revision of pay scales of
in service employees w.e.f. 01-08-2012 is expected to be finalised in couple of
months.
The pensioners retired in the scales of
pay of 1986,1993,1997,2002 or 2007 shall have to be fitted in the revised pay
scales relevant to the post and the scale of pay they have retired ; on stage
to stage fitment based on the principle of one rank one pension. Those who retired before 01-08-1997 are to get full-100%
neutralisation in dearness relief. Prior to that date, the D.A. / D.R. is on
reducing percentage basis to serving employees as well as to pensioners.
A chart indicating the percentage of
Dearness Relief with 100% neutralisation from 1st Aug.1997 onwards-
Aug.1997(A) , 2002 (B) and 2007(C) pay scales is given below :
