LIC REPEATS ITS GAME AT CHANDIGARH‏

A fresh urgent Application for withdrawing 20% from the deposit made in Chandigarh HC, was listed for hearing today before Justice Grover. Ms Alka Chhatrath, our regular Counsel could not attend because of her bereavement last week. I could not also go as the Notice was served on us only yesterday AN.

An Advocate from the office of Ms Alka appeared and opposed the Application as advised by us.

I was informed on phone that the Application was 'disposed of' recording the objection raised on our behalf. One thing is clear, LIC needs some pretext to explain to Supreme Court, why it did not pay in Chandigarh.

Official copy of the Order is awaited in a day or two.
