Comparisons should be made with comparables

Dear Sir,

I have seen Sri C.H. Mahadevan!s rejoinder to my post. I have high regard for his knowledge in all matters relating to court cases. Yet, I don't agree with his views. Comparisons should be made with comparables only. You cannot compare a Pensioner with an Employee drawing same amount of Pay. As an example, let us take the case of an employee drawing a Pay of Rs.10,000/- retiring on 31-7-99. While in service he would have got DA at a slab rate of Rs.23/-. On his retirement, his Pension will be Rs.5,000/- and the DR slab rate will be Rs.11.50 - exactly half. When this is OK and there is no problem, why earlier?
Re. the statement of arrears in respect of one Pensioner mentioned in Sri MSM!s post in PC, I have to reiterate that in my view while no arrears are due for period prior to 31-7-97, the amount mentioned for the subsequent period will also get reduced..
