Asthana's letter to LIC Chairman

The Chairman,
LIC of India,
Central Office,
Yogakshema,
Jeevan Bima Marg,
Mumbai-400 021

Sir,

Sub:    Payment of 20% of the amount due towards arrears of revision of pension.

The Hon’ble Supreme Court of India had passed an order on 7th May, 2015 to pay 20% of the amount due towards arrears of pension revision within six weeks from that day but although a period of more than four months have passed no payment has been made to me in the matter of judgment dated 12/1/2010 passed in S.B. Civil Writ Petition No. 654 of 2015, which pertained exclusively and exclusively for revision of pensions with the revision of pay scales, which took place after my retirement i.e. on 1/9/1997, 1/9/2002 and 1/9/2007 for the present. This amounts to contempt of the court.

I request you to please arrange to make payment of the 20% of the arrears to be calculated on the basis of revised pension without any further delay and also provide me the detailed calculation sheet, otherwise I may have to report non-compliance of the order and the Hon’ble Supreme Court may initiate contempt proceedings against the concerned authority as has been ordered on 7th September, 2015 passed in the presence of the Counsel for L.I.C. of India..

            Thanking you,
 Yours faithfully,
 (K.M.L. Asthana)
