SN (a 1992 Pensioner)

I have a relative retired from LIC in officers grade. He is one of them who retired before the eligibility date for pension option. He is hence, gratis GOI and LIC, an ex gratia recipient. The ex gratia recipients get bare minimum. By grace of God, he does not depend on ex gratia. He knows that his v.senior boss too gets ex gratia. He also knows and happy that his twenty plus year juniors draw very handsome pension. He wants that the old pensioners get their rightful dues. They should get full dearness relief and also pension updation as petitioned by Shri K.M.L. Asthana. He feels that Shri Asthana's petition is All In One.

A marginal benefit of Rs.50 plus DR. to ex gratia recipients from 01-07-2014, says Shri GNS. Good, something is always better. I shall convey to my relative today.

IBA has granted increase of Rs.50 plus DR in ex gratia to pre 1986 retirees from 01-02-2014.
(IBA circular dt.01-02-2014). As per latest IBA circular dated 01-08-2014, pre 1986 retirees get increased percentage of dearness relief from 01-08-2014 to 31-01-2015. They get 832.14% DR on Rs350/-, ex gratia amount. The total of Ex gratia including DR is Rs.3262/- p.m. The surviving spouses of pre 1986 retirees get half that amount, viz. Rs.1631/-.

It applies to LIC pre 1986 retirees - ex gratia recipients.
Shri SN adds:
The suggestion of Shri C.H. Mahadevan in his " Too little ...too late " is nice. The pre 1986
retirees of GOI represent to GOI for increase in Ex gratia amount through different organisations. Our leaders may take initiative /concerted action for the seniors lot.

The ex gratia to pre 1986 retirees in GOI has been last enhanced from June 2013. Ex gratia to
Group A,B,C,and D beneficiaries has been revised to Rs.3000/-, Rs.1000/-, Rs.750/- and Rs.650/- respectively. The Spouses get Rs.645/-. They are entitled to admissible dearness relief ( 200 % DR from 01-01-2014 ) on their basic ex gratia amount.

GOI OM-letter 07-05-2014 is appended for information of readers and leaders - only with sole intention to draw their immediate attention.
