PROF. POSITIVE AND HIS MUSINGS FROM AN EASY CHAIR...

            nithin_pb@yahoo.in

It is now the turn of our Shri MP Subrahmanian from Madurai – Professor Positive  -  a new comer to the scene. He has emerged from his den after more than 21 years of his retirement and joined arena despite the failing health of his spouse suffering from "hypertension and diabetes" (we are all senior citizens spending the evening of our life with all these diseases and even more - we require no sympathies please!).  Professor has studied the whole scene, LIC history and also problems of pensioners and made inquiries from his old students, friends and well wishers to know who is GN Sridharan having claim for a long innings in the Corporation.

He was very successful in collecting precise information that GNS was General Secretary, that "he was an Advocate with fame and standing and a well–trained and seasoned Politician." Equipped with this brief he argues:"...when a sizable section ponders over a pointed goal," here is an egoist, a negative professor coming to tell us there are defects. Please click on 'Read more'below.

Professor doesn't like arguments please... when "a sizable section thinks in a particular direction and wants it to be achieved", it should have been allowed. It is the Professor's thinking that GN Sridharan has no business to speak about the defective strategies...

Prof. Positive has dealt with the negative roles in a different angle also. His considered opinion is that Shri GN Sridharan has "allowed someone from Jaipur to take a lead in the matters of demanding 100% neutralization of DR and upgradation of pension through judicial process."

It is when Shri Asthana got a favourable verdict from Rajasthan HC that people noticed this case. As it happens everywhere, when success comes, there will also be some people to laud such people. Victory parades started at this point. I believe even AIRIEF and others who were not in the picture at all joined the bandwagon at this point of time only. They called this success a "GREAT VICTORY". And started collecting funds promising victory and immediate payment of arrears. Disillusioned people have now started asking questions. But Prof.Positive doesn't pretend to know this.

Professor Positive was perhaps pretty busy all these years since his retirement on 29-2-1992 (he belongs to the rare group of persons fortunate to retire on 29th of February!) and has rare qualities in his thinking mechanism. For the mistake that Shri GN Sridharan dared to point out that we should  concentrate on SLP, he is called an egoist and a negative Professor.

Prof.Emeritus has also requested Shri Sridharan to go ahead with "unnecessary criticism along with a prominent pensioners organisation" (AIIPA). However he doesn't criticise AIIPA or trades his guns towards this organisation. He doesn't also address an open letter to Shri K. Natarajan.

Professor continues: "Rajasthan High Court delivered judgment that there is no need to go in for the seal of approval of the Government but Prof.Positive perhaps does not know that even in the interlocutory applications filed by Shri Asthana there is mention of Sec.49 and 48 of LIC Act. It is argued that nothing comes against the pensioners even if sec.49 and amended sec.48 are considered.

As for Delhi HC judgment, Prof. Positive argues that although Shri Sridharan's prayer was only for DA neutralization, they delivered judgment in favour of DR difference and upward revision of pension.

Well done, Prof. Positive. You have now discovered enough points which LIC can make use of while filing any petition in future against Delhi HC. Such points should continue to be sent to LIC bosses and do your destined role for LIC.

Let Shri Sridharan reply letter from Professor Positive.  An ordinary pensioner like me likes the tone and tenor and also the spirit of his 'positive' letter. And to convey my high appreciation to the Professor Positive only this note is sent.
